  My research interests lie in the study of the Formosan languages and Formosan linguistics. My work has revolved around four major research activities: (i) research on the Formosan languages (Tsou, Rukai, Saisiyat, Bunun, Atayal, Pazeh, Puyuma, Yami), (ii) historical linguistics (Comparative study of Rukai and PAn reconstructions based on Formosan language data) (iii) building of the Formosan Language Archive, (iv) training of aboriginal assistants (Rukai, Tsou, Saisiyat, Atayal, Bunun, Paiwan, Seediq).
