Academician Pang-Hsin Ting 1936-2023

We regret to announce the death of Academician Pang-Hsin Ting. Professor Ting had been the director of the language group of the Institute of History and Philology, and a member of our institute's first academic advisory committee. At the time of his passing, Academician Ting was serving our institute as a corresponding research fellow. He passed away in the United States on January 30, 2023 at the age of 87, and is sorely missed by colleagues and former students.
