Distinguished Research Fellow Dr. Chiu-yu Tseng and her research team at the Phonetics Lab at Institute of Linguistics, Academia Sinica received the 2018 annual Oriental COCOSDA ITN Best Paper Award for a paper entitled “Parenthetical-A Special Type of Prosodic Reduction in Continuous Speech” (Chiu-yu Tseng, Helen Kai-yun Chen and Yen-Hsing Chen). The paper was presented at Oriental-COCOSDA 2018 (the 21st annual Conference of the Oriental chapter of the International Committee for the Co-ordination and Standardization of Speech Databases and Assessment Technique, May 8-9, 2018 Miyazaki, Japan). The award was presented by conference general chair Prof. Satoshi Nakamura at the closing ceremony.
