To promote scholar communication, each year the National Central Library assembles data from National Central Library’s Taiwan Citation Index–Humanities and Social Sciences. The institution recognizes the academic journals that are of the most cited and impactful according to the results.
 
In 2021, Language and Linguistics has been awarded with Instant Communicator Awards in Linguistics Journals (期刊即時傳播獎), an award distinguishes the Chinese journals published in Taiwan that has the highest impact factor according to the “2019 five-year impact factor.” 
 
 
Language and Linguistics also ranks among the best in Linguistics and be honored with Long-term Communicator Awards in Linguistics Journals (期刊長期傳播獎), for being one of the most cited Chinese journals published in Taiwan over the past 30 years in the category of journals, academic theses, monographs, and book chapters.
