The National Central Library announced and commended the most influential publishers of academic journals in Taiwan on March 31, 2017, based on the statistical data of “Taiwan Citation Index-Humanities and Social Sciences”, “National Digital Library of Theses and Dissertation in Taiwan”, and “Index to Taiwan Periodical Literature System” databases. 
 
The journal Language and Linguistics, published by Institute of Linguistics at Academia Sinica, is recognized for excellence in journal performance as “Taiwan’s Most Influential Humanities and Social Science Journal Awards” in 2017. This award is to honor the top three most influential journals among 18 fields of humanities and social sciences. Measured by the total citations, the journal Language and Linguistics won the first prize in the linguistics filed, surpassing far more than the second and third prizes.
