The 34th annual meeting of the Austronesian Formal Linguistics Association (AFLA-34) will take place from June 23rd to June 25th, 2027, at Academia Sinica in Taipei, Taiwan. AFLA is one of the premier international conferences in the field of Austronesian formal linguistics. It aims to provide an international forum for scholars engaged in theoretically oriented research on Austronesian languages to exchange ideas, present original findings, and foster scholarly collaboration. Another central mission of AFLA is to encourage early-career researchers to pursue theoretically grounded research on Austronesian languages. By bringing together leading international scholars, linguists who are native speakers of Austronesian languages and emerging researchers, AFLA promotes intergenerational academic exchange and continues to advance formal research on Austronesian languages.
